How billing works
- What counts: a request is billable when it completes successfully (a 2xx response), including results like “unknown” or “requires review”. Invalid input, authentication failures, rate-limited or quota-rejected requests, and errors are never billed.
- Allowance: every workspace gets 1,000 free requests per UTC calendar month, shared by all its API keys and the playground. Unused requests don't roll over.
- When the allowance runs out: on Free, requests return
429 USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDEDuntil the next month. On Pay As You Go, each further successful request costs $0.005, up to your spending cap. - Spending cap: required for Pay As You Go (from $5 to $10,000 a month; $50 by default). It limits usage charges before tax. At the cap, requests are rejected until the next month or until you raise it, so you're never charged more than you set.
- Billing: no monthly fee and no subscription. Usage is invoiced monthly in arrears and charged to your saved payment method. Applicable sales tax or VAT is added to the invoice. Invoices under $0.50 are carried to the next invoice.
- Payment problems: if a payment fails, paid requests pause until the invoice is paid; unused free requests keep working.
- Cancel anytime: turn off Pay As You Go in the dashboard to stop billable usage immediately. Usage already incurred is invoiced at the end of the month.
